The Sour Tarantula

Servings: 1 cocktail

Equipment

Lowball Glass
Cocoktail shaker
Jigger

Ingredients

Cocktail

2 oz Tarantula Tequila Azul
2 oz Sour mix we followed Serious Eats DIY Sour Mix Recipe

Garnish

Rimming Salt
Lime or Lemon wedge for rimming glass
Gummi Spiders optional

Instructions

Chill rocks glass in freezer then rim glass with salt and fill with ice.
Add ice, tequila & sour mix to cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously.
Remove glass from freezer & fill small plate with salt
Rub rim of glass with lemon/lime wedge then roll rim in salt as desired
Pour all contents from cocktail shaker into rimmed rocks glass.
(optional) Add gummi spider for garnish.
Enjoy!

Notes

If you can’t find Tarantula Tequila, substitute with white/blanco tequila. Same goes for gummi spiders; Trolli gummi octopus work out perfectly.

Visiting Schmendrick’s Grave

Servings: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

Cocktail

2 oz Hendrick's Lunar Gin can substitute with other floral-heavy gin
1 half lemon/lime
2 Sugar Cubes Or 1 DemBonesShoppe's Absinthe Skull Sugar Cube
3 dashes Lavender bitters

Garnish

1 sprig Lavender

Instructions

Chill martini glass in freezer
Fill cocktail shaker with ice
Add gin, lemon, one sugar cube and shake.
Remove glass from freezer and add 1 sugar cube.
Dash bitters over sugar & muddle.
Strain from shaker into glass.
Add lavender sprig.
Enjoy!

Notes

If you have the skull sugar cube, skip steps adding one cube into shaker and muddling in glass. Just place it in your glass with bitters to transform into the “grave soil”.

Why Absinthe sugar cubes?

They dissolve more efficiently in cold drinks versus regular sugar cubes which require some heat to dissolve effectively in a drink.
